W.I.P. Richard Wright

It is a sad day for music fans. Richard Wright, a founding member of Pink Floyd, passed away today. I grew up to Pink Floyd's music. Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall defined my high school years.  He co-wrote Shine On You Crazy Diamond, I've listened to it a thousand time. It is one of a handful of songs I can play in my head without actually hearing the  music.

Everybody dies - so very few leave anything of value behind. Thanks for the memories, the music, and concerts that blew my mind. Shine on...

Meddle and Animals were big ones for me, and I even got into all the weird stuff on Ummagumma. Throughout all of this, Wright's contributions were major, though he never got the credit he should have. I posted a tribute at my blog too, at http://isorski.blogspot.com/2008/09/pink-floyds-r...
Well that sucks! Pink Floyd have been one of my favorites for a long time. I only had the pleasure of seeing them in concert once, but it was something I'll never forget.
I'm still so sad - but weezer helps.
