How many years for Artis Caver?

I know this is another Bad Baptist post, but I wanted to treat Artis Caver differently. his crimes were not against innocent young teens. No, his crimes were against his fellow Baptists and involved money, so the penalty will severe.

Caver was found guilty Thursday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on 25 counts of money laundering, perjury and theft stemming from accusations he stole nearly $400,000 from the church's bank account

How many years will Artis Caver be sentenced to when he goes back to court on Wednesday? He could face 120 years in prison. My guess is that his sentence will be 70 years. Please post your guess in the comments.

I'll go with 70, too.

PS I can't help but wonder if his congregation is saying "he's a good Christian, he shouldn't be convicted"...

NOT SURE HOW LONG HIS SENTENCE IS GOING TO BE. I DO KNOW HE MAY NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY OUTSIDE PRISON WALLS. SO SAD FOR HIS VERY YOUNG SON....I HAVE TO ADMIT, HE'S EXCELLENT AT DELIVERING THE WORD. WE ALL HAVE PROBLEMS FOLLOWING OUR OWN ADVICE......"PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH."

Take a look in the mirror and judge yourself first. By the time you finish, you won't have time to judge anyone else. Those who do judge are just trying to not see their own faults and failures. Is that you?

Rev Tom

I look good in the mirror all the time. What I see looks good. Then again, I did not steal almost $500K from a church.

I can judge a man like Caver. So can you. Waiting for god to judge is a fools quest.

He is my brother. It seems now that I never knew him when he lived in Chicago. I don't know what to think about what he's done. I just don't understand it. The way he can preach and deliver the Word. I now wonder what God he was serving. On the other hand, I feel sad for the person who said that "Waiting for God to judge is a fool's quest". God is the only one who can judge us.

The only judgement that matters is that of Our Most High God. We need to pray for this man, that he can continue to work on his heart and his mind. After being in prison all of this time now you would think that he would have learned how to let some things GO. His former church (which rightfully would have belonged to GOD anyway) now has a new pastor and have since FINALLY moved on. However, this man continues to try and pastor the remaining few very lost sheep that continue to follow him from JAIL. SERIOUSLY! What is amazing is that his few faithful followers continue to do the things that he tells them to. Trying to bring back to life former ministries and starting church again at a PARTY CENTER after GOD delivered the congregation from it and seems to be blessing them abundantly. Our prayers should be that the Lord have mercy on this mans soul and that he touch his heart to FINALLY LET GO AND LET GOD. How selfish it is to ask people to continue to raise money for his defense so that "he can tell his side of the story." The story has been told. Let GO and LET GOD. Lord, please have mercy. Our prayer for these few faithful followers should be that the Lord lift the veil from their eyes and that He have mercy on them also because although they don't realize it, they are bringing curses upon themselves and their households. Are you serious, continuing to follow a man from prison. I have to give it to him, he's gotta be a MACK from way back cause only a mack with that much game could have so much mental control over people for them to continue to follow him from jail. INCREDIBLE! Lord have mercy.

Who knows the truth about what happened in this case? I personally have talked to key people within the church and within the justice center and they all say the same thing, the MAN was set-up, he was made to be an example by the judge who sentenced him to 16 years, NEVER proving that any money was stollen from the church, definetly not $400K! It was the church people who's money he was accused of stealing that stood with and is still waiting on his return! What God has Blessed, NO man can curse!! Be careful how you put your mouth on the man of God, what did Jesus do to be crucified? Need to STOP hating from the pulpit to the pew and stand in support of one another! God is going to move on that pastor in a mighty way, down but definitely not out!!!
