A story from my day - long hours

My head is still a little fuzzy and confused at the moment. I have worked four 16 hour days in a row while on the road north of Los Angeles this week. When I returned last night it was already 10:30 PM. My work day had started at 7:00 in the morning with conference calls to India. My head finally hit the pillow at 11:30 PM after talking to my oldest son for an hour. At midnight my cell phone stated ringing with an urgency that can only be linked to a system crash. I was on the road within 15 minutes, driving 80 mph toward work. I returned home just before 3:00 AM and spent an hour unwinding before falling asleep a little after 4:00 AM - a 19 hour day was behind me at last. Yet I was oddly happy and upbeat.

For those of you in my family who read this, lets just say there is some big new pending. Big enough that a killer day at work did not even phase me - except that it made my 47 year old body feels like it was wrapped in cotton.

Does the occasion need a baked good? Cheesecake or carrot cake perhaps? I'm always up to bake...keep my mind off other things at the moment. Let me know...
