Dominionism on Wikipedia

Dominionism is the tendency amount conservative politically-active Christians to seek influence or control over secular civil government through political action. Wikipedia's article on Dominionism has grown from a mere entry in January of 2005 to a enlightening summary of one of the most significant threats to our liberty.

The terms Hard Dominionism or Theocratic Dominionism, are used by some to describe forms of Dominionism which evidently envision, and work toward, a future (prior to the Second coming of Christ) in which all the institutions of society will be governed by the principles of their form of Christian faith.

It my black and white world, dominionist are the enemy.

I am a Christian, but I am deeply opposed to dominionism. Jesus never coerced anyone into the faith. He gave us free will, and for anyone, especially christians, to try and take that free will away by imposing their values, faith, and religion on others is a gross misuse of Christianity.

I am of the mind that Christians are indeed called to change the world, but not through force, coercion, or political dominance, but by sacrificing for and serving the least, the lost, and last of this world.

tia lynn thank you for speaking truth as a Christian. Your words accurately reflect what Christianity claims to be all about. Unfortunately there are a lot of people and institutions masquerading as 'Christian' who are using the leverage provided by religious affiliation to attack civil liberties and are a very real threat tour our freedoms.

Tank you Joe for pointing it out.

tia,
Are you serious? 'Believe in me or suffer in hell for eternity' doesn't constitute coercion?

That would be like the Exclusive Brethren. Excellent report on them last night on ABC TV here in OZ.
