Street Prophets has a detailed look at the provisions of HR 1592 - Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007, aka The Hate Crimes Bill.
Notice if you will (with the help of my emphasis) that each section includes...wait for it...RELIGION. Religious affiliation is protected by this law. If someone, God forbid, were to take a shot at Mr. Dobson because of his religious beliefs, then they would face prosecution under this law, which is exactly what he and his kind would be calling for if such a situation were to happen!
But because this bill protects those in the GLBT community as well it is immoral and an attempt by the government to destroy religion. It is meant to protect the very religions that are claiming that it is trying to destroy them, but lets not haggle over the facts.
