The Justice Department is investigating Monica Goodling to determine if she used political affiliation to determine who received entry level jobs at the U.S. Attorneys office. Lets be frank here - political affiliation is code talk for a Bush sanctified fundamentalist zealot. Goodling is a graduate of Regent University School of Law. Regent is an evangelical University who's primary goal is political activism. For some reason, Regent University is heavily represented in the justice Department.
Goodling was in charge of hiring attorneys. She favored attorneys from Christian Law Schools, like Regent. Get the picture? My guess is her interviews went something like this.
- Did you vote for Bush?
- Are you a Christian?
- Are you a registered Republican?
- Are you against abortion and gay rights?
- Did you attend Regent University School of Law?
- What is more important - protecting civil rights or ending pornography?
- What is more important - protecting the First Amendment or pursuing the War on Drugs?
- What kind of oil do you prefer in you sanctification ceremony?
Goodling helped gut the Justice Department while turning its focus toward enforcement of "morality" issues. She is the very definition of a Christianist.
When exactly do the purges start? There are some fundies in government who need to find another line of work.

I cannot forget John Dean's words to Richard M. Nixon, "There is a cancer growing on the presidency. . ." In the Bush presidency the cancer has metastasized throughout the Federal Government by Bush's own hand. He has placed right-wing-religious ideologues from Regent University throughout the federal government who are now gnawing like termites at the foundations of the First Amendment. The latest estimate is that there are 150 graduates of Pat Robetson's "university" now working to punish Bush's enemies and give power to those who follow Christian Broadcaster and well-known nutcase Robertson.
Let's find out who all those right-wing, lunatic fringe Christian wingnuts are, their names, their positions, their salaries (which you and I pay) and stop them before they can do any more damage to America.
The face of the enemy gets younger every day.
"Damage to America" is the key phrase. It goes beyond the appointment of these graduates and their fundie objectives to culture at large. To the constitutional ideals. The one positive is that the administration has been weakened, thus its ability drive the agenda with as much force.
