rants and more rants

I normally don't post on Mondays. In the tradition of the LDS church, I like to reserve at least one night a week for my family.  We will watch a movie or play a game, or sometimes just be together in three separate rooms (while reading). I need this time with my family. It helps keep me sane.

I'm posting tonight because I have a headache. I've spent an evening trying to relax, and now at 11:15 PM I know that I am in for a long sleepless night. My guess is sleep will come around 4:00 AM. So until I sleep, I post.

Headaches make me a little cranky. Things only get worse when fundies like like Dan "The Truth" Marvin leave their screed on my blog. It causes this little vein to pop out on my forehead, my eye twitches... I eventually feel compelled to post a response. Dan - what the hell are you doing posting your crap on my blog while not allowing me to post on your stupid excuse for a blog? He actually wants me to review Lee Strobel's A Case for A Creator. As if... I guess he thinks he is witnessing - of course, it also means he did not look at my blog. In my book that would make Dan Marvin a fundie nutball. The content on his blog only confirms it.

Lets use mathematics: Lets say the population doubled ever 150 years. And we start at Adam and Eve and after 32 doublings at 4800 years we get around 8.6 billion people but we take the “Flood” in account at 4500 years and we get a number around 6.5 billion people. Assuming the conservative growth rate the current population can be reached well within a 6000 year period.

The only thing to do is make fun of him. Friggen fundie, my brain hurts to much to come up with any real good put downs. Perhaps my atheist buddies can help?

It's pretty obvious if you start out with false premise you will end up with false conclusion.

Lexcen,

I agree, if you start with something like "I am an atheist" that there is NO GOD. Then they are clamoring to find evidence to prove it, which by the way there is none.

I was providing evidence to the contrary of your beliefs and you don't want to hear it, fine. I understand you do not want the truth and I will have to just ask God to change your heart.

The bible alone is proof that Jesus was the messiah woven throughout 66 books that pointed to him in the span of 1400 years and over 40 authors.

An atheist can't find God the same way a criminal can't find a police officer.

You have faith in a false God, Jesus is the true God.

For Him,
Dan

Don't play with pigs. You both get muddy, but the pig enjoys it.

(I'd forgotten that little missive, until just recently! It was told to me in the context of corporate politics, well before forums, blogs, etc came along.)

Dan Marvin is actually being quite rude in posting, but not allowing reciprocation. Freedom of expression doesn't just go one way, Dan. If you want politeness, Dan, I suggest you allow comments on your blog. And if you do, you should not delete those that you disagree with; that's simply a local suppression of ideas.

You actually have no basis for expressing your ideas, Dan. I've not seen Mojoey deleting comments he doesn't agree with; you don't even allow them.

Dan Marvin, you are guilty of sophistry.

Mojoey,

I hope this doesn't compound your headache but I've just tagged you with a Thinking Blogger award. I'm certain that you've probably already had multiple such tags but I didn't readily find them and you certainly deserve the recognition.

Please keep-up the great work. You know you're doing good when those theist devils come knocking.

at 4800 years we get around 8.6 billion people
Dan,
That would be great if only there were any fucking EVIDENCE that there were billions of people on the Earth that long ago. Cities? ruins? fossils? skeletons? Anything?

No?

Yeah, I thought not.

The bible alone is proof that Jesus was the messiah woven throughout 66 books that pointed to him in the span of 1400 years and over 40 authors.

Of course there's internal "evidence" in the bible. That's because - wait, you may have heard this before -it's a work of FICTION. So you can write any goddamn thing you want to "prove" that chapter 60 is fulfilling chapter 10. Wow!! How did that happen? It must be a miracle!

An atheist can't find God the same way a criminal can't find a police officer.

And a theist can't find facts and reason the same way they can't find their ass with a map and a flashlight.

Until and unless you have something intelligent to contribute, please sit quietly in a corner.

And wear this hat>> DUNCE

I am pointing out the false that you are protruding. You are shaking your fists at God and such in a public forum, and I offer a book to read in my comment here

Then you angrily write how unfair I am and Carolyn Ann calls me rude when I was the only one posting to him about that book. I only offered another one to review in hopes that maybe he would see some truth. Carolyn Ann states ” Freedom of expression doesn't just go one way, Dan. If you want politeness, Dan, I suggest you allow comments on your blog.”

All I ask is, have you ever tried to post to my blog? All I get is an email alerting that you did. I admit I have, as said in my comments, paraphrased someone that was vulgar and abusive in there behavior. I have deleted some based on the relevance or again abusiveness of the post. I feel I have not done that at all to any of you.

To Lexcen I admit I had to look up the word sophistry and that is a good word but I have to tell you that, it is the atheists who take that position, not I.

“Don't play with pigs. You both get muddy, but the pig enjoys it.” I don’t, so I will try not being a stumbling block for any of you. Just search the TRUTH yourself and don’t just take a man’s word for it.

Hay bookjunky flip the equation to the other side and try to justify the 100,000 year that the evolutionist claim we have been here. It is only a way to explain with math the falseness of the theory of evolution. I think it's a young earth not an old one. If you take these numbers and extrapolate anything out, even cockroaches, over millions of years it just doesn't fit. If you take these numbers in the 6000 year time frame it’s a plausible fit. All of it was reset and started over with Noah's flood 4500 years ago.

Earth's oldest living inhabitant "Methuselah" at 4,767 years, has lived more than a millennium longer than any other tree. Everything was destroyed before that, in the flood, nothing is older because of that reason. You want to know when the flood was, just look at that one Bristlecone Pine in California.

There is an exponential acceleration after a certain point. One can conclude that after a short time there had to be catastrophic events to reset the numbers, along with it being a young earth. Why aren’t we finding trillions of animals before a certain point because of the “millions” of years or any evidence to support it?

Calling me a dunce doesn’t make it true. Believing that there is NO GOD is evidence of intelligence? If a belief of NO GOD without any evidence to prove said claim is the criteria for intelligence then I will wear the hat. There will be a judgement day for all of us, are you ready?

For Him,
Dan

"I am pointing out the false that you are protruding." - I am not even sure I understand what you are talking about. Are you homeschooled?

Mojoey said...

Don - you do not understand the public nature of blogging any more than you understand the signifigance of asking me to read a fundie book. I am an atheist. Nothing you give me to read is going to change that. If you want a dialog - open up comments on your crappy blog.

D. A. N. said...

Mojoey,

You keep saying that I don't accept comments, where are you getting this from?

I am not even sure I understand what you are talking about.

What part of that entire post do you not understand? I will explain better if I can.

I am an atheist. Nothing you give me to read is going to change that.

So what you are telling everyone is that you are a bigot, ok I understand now. Is this bigotry common among atheists? I wouldn't be proud of that. This is why God hates pride BTW.

For Him,
Dan
