I've wanted to see this my whole life

Words alone cannot express how disappointed I was to see this. I had dreamed of seeing the Lincoln Memorial since I was a child. Dispute a very long walk, and a chilly night, I was not going to let it get me down. However, I lost my spark after this disappointment. Especially give how unfriendly D.C. is to tourists. Parking is horrible – most monuments are blocked off from vehicle access. Security is everywhere. Amenities are few. Unless you are very lucky, it is a long walk to see anything. But a long walk to see Lincoln’s eyebrows?

How terrible! Last time I was there was about a decade ago, no security, no parking problems (train), sunny day in spring. Hope you get another chance to see old Abe.

I've seen enough to convince me that coming back with my family would be a good idea. so no worries, I'll be back.

I havent been to DC or to see any of the monuments. My girlfriend grew up in DC so shes like, oh its nothing special... but me... man I have been wanting to see that stuff since I was a kid. It sucks that the lincoln memorial is under renovation... sorry to hear that, I know I would have been pissed too.
