I starting seeing more and more of these (of course it could be because I'm looking for them), they pop up everywhere, but most commonly on Hispanic auto garages and restaurants. They are hard to spot peaking out between the bright blue paint, hand lettered signs, and graffiti.. This one is from Anaheim Blvd in Wilmington, just south of the 110 Freeway. I don't know if it means the garage is blessed by the Virgin Mary, or if it's a charm to ward off gang violence. A friend once told me they were erected as memorials to a passed loved one. I'm going to have to stop and ask soon. I can't stand not knowing
