I get comments

I blow most comments off, even when they attack me. On the other hand, sometimes I feel compelled to share. This comment was left in reference to Hands that pray also prey, a post about alleged sexual groper and Christian Karl VanderWoude.

Anonymous said... What a bunch of hate mongers you all are. Turns out the guy is INNOCENT. I think the crazy people are the ones pushing hate out into the world and spreading these horrible accusations about an innocent man. Instead of posting your hate and moving on I hope a few of you scumbags keep up to date with this and write a blog about how horrible you feel about being such a douche-bag. And screw you, the less evil people in the world (who else would read your trash blog) that know my name, the better.

This was followed by a personal attack. I get lots of these. Why did I choose Deep Thoughts as a name? I love Jack Handy.

It’s easy enough to guess your name Karl. I get that you are pissed about the press and blog coverage of your story. However, as of the time I write this, the only evidence I have that you might be innocent are your assertions.

There are no stories suggesting that you are innocent. When (if) these hit the press, I will post them. If you are not the Well-Dressed Grouper, then I’ll be happy to offer you a guest post here on my blog (See the FAQ).

Do I think you are guilty? It really does not matter, does it? My opinion is meaningless. I did not even express an opinion in my original piece. Nope… I was snarky about your arrest, but neutral on your guilt or innocence.

And... good luck in court. I understand they have you on video.

My wife gets a lot of those types of comments on Conservative Babylon. No matter how many times she puts "alleged" they rake her over the coals. The wingnuts always love to whine about how they're being falsely accused, and how nobody should judge them (or their pastor, their friend or whoever the story is about). Funny how they never have any problem judging GLBT people, non-Christians, women who want to control their own bodies, etc, etc.

I'm not Karl. Just a normal person that can't stand hate mongers like you. Go do a search now douche-bag. Innocent. This isn't about christian non-christian. This is about HORRIBLE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD. You are one of them. I see some of your readers are as well. Keep supporting evil, hateful people. The video they had was of him AT WORK... that's called an alibi, you idiot.

Normal person? I don't think so. You have inside information not yet published in the press. You are either Karl, his roommate, or family. I would like to point out that I have not posted on his guilt or innocence, but on his alleged crime, arrest, and information posted in the press about one happened. That hardly make me evil. This is about Christian vrs Atheist btw. Christians call us amoral, I point the finger right back them.

Plus, you hide you identity, use a false email address, and use a protected ip address. Who are you really?

The police have video evidence showing a man that looks like Karl near the scene. It is in the press. I don't make things up.

If charges are dropped I always update the story. I'll do the same thing in this case of a crime. I also will offer Karl a guest post here to talk about whatever he wants. I do that for every case too. Karl can talk about what happened with edits from me.

And the last thing... You are giving this case life by posting your ridiculous comments. It keeps the case open and draws viewers.

I think you are using a different definition of hate then the ones found in dictionaries. Posting a news story from reliable sources isn't hate but spreading the word. Hate is when you use unreliable sources to spread words that harm others. A good example of that is the bible. Millions every year are harmed because others use a book which has little reliable information in it yet so many claim it is the full truth.

I could agree with you if you had said I have no life but can tell from this blog that he does have a pretty active life. Life isn't about begging for forgiveness from some invisible friend that will burn you in hell if you stray from a path which you ignore anyway but going out and making the world a better place for those who will come after you.

So what you are saying is that when the media reports something that you don't like, they are doing it as a form of hate. No informing people of news reports aren't hate but a means of showing that people aren't always what they claim to be. Living in a bubble as you seem to I can understand why you would see it as hate but it isn't.

Who said anyone was better then others? If you are going to make claims you need to support them not act like you are in school doing the better then you game. I love when someone comments on a blog about how others should get a life. If you really want to see who is acting as if they are better go check out a mirror. You like many christians make fools out of yourselves because you have no real idea of what reality is. You hide in your little box and are afraid to get out of it. Try getting a life yourself and then come back and have a real discussion about what is going on in the world.

Hey, I can look in the mirror everyday. What about you. I help out those who are in need, not sit around on my butt. I also help with habitat for humanity, and civic groups in my city. I worry about my self, what about you. You have little minds. I volunteer with the elderly and veterans groups, how about you. This whole blog page is a bunch of crap, just copy and paste and make little comments. Tell me what you do to make the world a better place.

What do I do to make the world a better place? I try to get people to quit thinking in a box and only helping when they feel they are getting something from it. I give money to groups that push for the rights of all Americans not just those that think like them. I avoid using anything I don't need and yes most days I do sit on my butt a lot. I do drive for a living and it is a little hard to drive an vehicle weighing over 80,000 lbs standing up. I save lives every day because I am aware of what I am doing and do know if I make a mistake I can be the cause of people dying.

No I quit volunteering at most aid places because I got tired of hearing all about how god is so great and good but seems to ignore all the pain. I got tired of how blind the so called volunteers were to reality of what was going on in front of them. I help those I can not because I feel I have to but because it is the right thing to do.

It doesn't really matter who is doing the writing. I would say everyone comes off differently then they want when there is only text. The person reading it will put their own ideas of what the person is feeling that wrote it. I agree many times it is a lot easier create conflict with just written words then when face to face.

If you look at the first amendment of The United States Constitiution,which because of our for fathers and veterans, you may eat,sleep and spread the crap you do. On the other hand this Country has the freedom of religion, which a lot of a people came to this gratCountry for, and so they are entitled to that right. Too bad you hate the people in this world, so sad for you.

Wow talk about making an assumption. Why do you think I hate anyone? I don't hate anyone but there are those that I don't like. Those are two different things. The only people I have seen that I can say truly hates others are those basing it on politics or religion.

You might want to study your history a little closer. The people who first started coming to the New World didn't come for freedom of religion but the ability to practice their religion. If they had come here for religious freedom they wouldn't have made laws making several types of christian religions illegal. They wouldn't have made it a crime to miss church or to even bath on a Sunday. Grow up and understand what you think freedom of religion is and what it should be are two different things.

The First Amendment doesn't actually say freedom of religion but that the government can't make any laws against a religion nor will it make any favoring a religion. This just means they can't tell you how or what you can do within your religion.
