Does anyone else get death threats?

This nutball is starting to piss me off. I think it’s time for another call to the FBI.

I get this post:

Dennis Markuze a.k.a. David Mabus has found you. He spams a lot of atheist blogs, including mine. He definitely has a serious mental health problem, but he's probably harmless. Since he's spamming so many atheist blogs, you at least have good odds if he goes off the deep end and does something violent.

Mojoey, here's what I've discovered, so far:

The host is: cable-12-103-165.b2b2c.ca
The provider: Cidc Internal Use
IP address: 72.12.103.165
Coming from Outremont, Quebec
They're using Firefox 3.6 on a Windows 7 system.
The visitor is reported as being on my blog for 1 hour, 39 minutes, 3 seconds.

He (?) left two comments, one at 12:38:12, and another at 12:54:14. One was saved, I don't know if he deleted the other one, but only one was showing when I checked my blog just now. He seems to have bounced between our blogs, but I can't be sure - the logs aren't that detailed.

It seems he was on as little as 17 minutes ago (2:17:17).

I'll let you know more as I find it. I'm also saving PDF's of all the activity.

Oh - I forgot (sorry!), his first comment was from a Blogger profile for Davi. (http://www.blogger.com/profile/00029011575598981492)

His second one was "anonymous".

So he links to a wiki page that explains, specifically, that none of the prizes for evidence of paranormal claims have been won, then claims nostradamus won them all..

Yeah, crazy.

I would agree that you need to inform law enforcement but am afraid it won't be high priority to them. I have heard a few other bloggers talking about a guy sending them these same types of threats. I don't think that law enforcement fully understands that threats on the internet are no different then ones sent by snail mail.

I did the FBI yesterday. I think they are more concerned about economic crimes as there form asked all kinds of questions about value and almost nothing about violence.

I was on Blag Hag and under her "banned" commenters was DM and his aliases. She wrote that she had to block his IP address (and in doing so block many folks who live in Montreal).

No mystery: his name is Dennis Markuze, Quebec iMontreal. The Montreal police told my local NH State police investigator he is a harmelss loser, has threanted everyone in the atheist world. Lives with his Mom, failed computer parts salesman, 40ish, currently working at a fast food resaurant.

Picture of him snapped when he inflitrated the atheist confreence in Montreal this Fall; he ran like a scared rabbit when he realized he was made. PZ Meyers posted the pic on his blog.

Mojoey... calling Markuze a loser is an insult to losers.
BTW... the Montreal police offered to pursue my complaint, but cautioned that these things drag on forever with defense attorney continuences, which one doesn't find out till one appears in court . I simply put DMon "moderate" so he can't post to my blog and he is just an amusing memory now.

I got the anonymous Nostradamus comment twice a few days ago, which I promptly deleted from my blog (but kept as a record on my email system), and I also got a Nostradamus comment from "Davi," which he appears to have deleted himself (though I have it on my email system). I did not get the "executed" comment.

I'm sorry you got this, Mojoey. No one needs this kind of garbage. I get a lot of pretty ugly stuff, and a guy once told me I should be "destroyed," but I've never gotten anything as bad as this.

I've never gotten death threats but I have gotten the senseless Nostradamus crap sent to me before. It's why I had comment moderation turned on (I need to see about IP tracking). Hopefully this nutball disappears as fast as he shows up.
