Tony Alamo busted on sex charges

Christian con man and convicted tax cheat Tony Alamo has been arrested for transporting minors across state lines for sexual purposes. If the DA plays his cards right, this will be the end of Tony Alamo.

The one-time rock promoter and street preacher was arrested by the FBI while leaving a Flagstaff hotel Thursday on charges of violating the Mann Act, usually used in interstate prostitution cases.

Federal prosecutors sought Alamo's arrest after interviewing six girls taken into state custody during a raid of his southwestern Arkansas compound on Saturday.

"It's a hoax," Alamo told CNN by phone from Los Angeles. "They're just trying to make our church look evil ...... by saying I'm a pornographer. Saying that I rape little children. ...... I love children. I don't abuse them."

I'll watch this one closely.

Tony Alamo does NOT represent Christianity. He is a self-proclaimed "evangelist" who is nothing more than a grifter, charlatan, manipulator, and con-man. He is simply one of 100's of similar such hucksters (though most don't stoop to the perversion that he apparently has) who think they can pick up a Bible have real authority from God and the right to control people's life and take their hard-earned money.
