Pastor Thomas Collett arrested

Baptist Pastor Thomas “Punchy” Collett of the famous First Baptist Church of Taylorsville, allegedly punched Michael Hill in the face over an incident that occurred at a den of ill repute known as the Waffle House over near Columbus. Collet was arrested.

Punchy Collet allegedly punched Hill several times in the face. It’s what 67-year-old professional pastors do and is considered very much in keeping with the teachings of Christ.

I’ll file this one under, “I can’t make this shit up.”

well you know, people make mistakes and just because he is a pastor does not mean that he is head at a higher standard. We are all human and
we all fail and come short of the glory of God, even pastors. And that also means that we dont plaster this all over the media and the world. No one even has proof of this happening. So everybody needs to ask themselves what would Jesus do. And I believe we already know that answer. He would forgive and forget and everybody needs to do the same.

We do not agree. Pastor are held to a higher moral standard. I also do not agree that we all fail and come short of the glory of god. I don’t believe in god, nor do I believe in the impossible standard preached by people like Collett. We don’t all fail. We don’t all punch our neighbor. Most of us go though life without acting at odd to our nature.

Pastor Collet is held to a higher standard. When he allegedly punched somebody the public recognized it as a crime. The public recognizes that a pastor should be an example of what he preaches. The public demands justice when justice is due. Pastor Collett gets a place on my blog among the other hypocrites. My hope is that he did not do it. My hope is that he lived his faith and did not fall. My hope is that he will be exonerated. My hope is often left unfulfilled.
yes he should be an example. In a way we all should be an example to others around us. we dont know what really happened that day because
it is just hear say between collett and the guy and the guys family. And yes we do all fail but yes we dont all punch our neighbor but we do other things like, we put other people down or we talk in behind other peoples backs. In Gods eyes that is just as bad and it is also just as bad to be gey or lesbian. or to steal, lie, or cheat. or even cus. Im sorry you dont believe in God. I hope that one day you will. and i can sit here all day and preach to you and show you facts about Jesus and the bible but i am not a christian that is going to shove it down your throt because thats not right. But i believe in Pastor Collett and will pray for him even though i dont know the man. I just know that a man of God would not do what they say he has done. And i will also pray for you and maybe you will let God into your life and heart and you will begin to see what being a christian is all about. I hope i have not disgruntaled you in any way or went past bounderies. If I have I am sorry

To a rational mind, saying violence is the same as gossip does not make sense. Equating being gay with being violent or hurting others does not make sense. In your world, a person who rapes and murders is just as bad office gossiper at the water cooler. We are judged by what we do. A pastor punching a man is evil. My gay niece, not at all.

I was a Christian once a long time ago. I was going to be a pastor. I walked away from the comfort of religion with my eyes wide open and a skeptical mind. I do not want or need your meaningless prayers. Go feed a homeless person.
So you were a Christian once?, so was I but the difference between you and me is, I still believe there is a God and you don't. You know if you die tonight, you're going to a Burning Hell. Hell is a real place whether you choose to pretend it does not exist.

I know there are hypocrites in Church, one more wasn't going to make a difference yet you stop going.

I guess he's more an Old Testament kind of guy.
