Taking the measure of Pence

I’ve had my eye on Vice President-elect Mike Pence for years. He’s no friend of atheists and has a real problem with the LGBT community. Pence is also anti-science, anti-women and I have him pegged to the far-right dominionist fringe of the evangelical community. I take the measure of a man by what he does. The press is full of examples. Take for example how he treated Amy Sandler.

When a federal trial court ordered Indiana to recognize our marriage on an emergency basis because of Niki’s declining health, Governor Pence immediately appealed. He wouldn’t allow the state to protect even one family with a dying parent—my family—while the court case made its way through the legal system. - Mike Pence’s Hateful Laws Almost Kept me for my Dying Wife.

Mike Pence made his anti-gay crusade personal, and that’s all we really need to know him.

He is certainly beginning to sound like a Christian extremist. I guess we better hope that Trump stays healthy.

I fear Trump for his incompetence. I fear Pence for his faith. What a horrible mess we have.
I do not fear a Trump President. We have all been here before. George W Bushes incompetence ring a bell? He had a truly evil guy running this country Dick Chaney. Conservative's come in screw things up with their over the top corruption, the economy takes a dive, We go to War again as a way to distract people from the real world, and Christians get to look like idiots and then we get 8 years of the Dems who have too fix it all. Time go's on. The great experiment continues. Nothing new under the sun.

I am not so nearly as pessimistically optimistic. I don’t think Trump is a typical Republican. I don’t even put him in the same category as George W. I fear his corruption. I fear is VP.
