Pastor Matthias Anderson arrested

MathiasAnderson41-year-old Matthias Anderson of New Wine Ministries Church in Oceanside, CA., stands accused of molesting a girl under the age of 14 (the victim was 12). There may be other victims.

"The sexual relationship ... occurred multiple times in both Riverside and San Diego counties," Gomez alleged.

Anderson, who lives in Hemet, allegedly would pick the girl up at her home and take her to another location to have sex with her, the sergeant said.

A comment caught my eye.

by hello!!

I give my sympathies to the family but I must admit, I feel it is partially the parents' fault this (may have) happened. If it were my daughter, I would not let her go off with a pastor alone for any reason. There just aren't any good reasons for it. The only reason I could think of a pastor coming to my home to pick up my child would be for a large church group outing or christian summer camp. In which, parents are most often required to drop the child off at the church where everyone is required to meet to be able to go, not the paster or a church authority member to pick them up from home. I hope for the girl's sake that they are wrong accusations and it is not something she will have to live with for the rest of her life.

Hello!! is correct. Parents beware. There is never a reason to turn you daughters over to a pastor.

Child's mother and she were in shelter hiding from mother's domestic abuser when the Pastor made his move on the girl.

Considering the possibility that the mother being in a church shelter to protect her most likely caused her to 'trust' those who were sheltering her from horror/abuse which blinded her to any threat a pastor would be to her child.

Blaming the parents in this particular instance makes me uncomfortable.

personally knowing the child and mother, there is more to the story, the mother came a long way. she not only a victim of domestic violence but she was struggling with a drug problem as well. during her recovery she became a better mother and overall person attending school full time and working at the church and was the a leader in the woman's home giving inspiration to girls who had similar lives to hers. no one would suspect a man who was the founder and pastor of the church and woman's home and the man who basically held out his hand to help back up would be the one to go and have a relationship with her daughter. true enough as mothers you have to be cautious of who your children are going off with but he was a PASTOR, the daughter who was actively involved in the churches youth functions {the choir, fundraisers, and car washes)and she was also the best friend of the Pastors daughter. so how could she be suspicious of any foul play? It's good that she paid enough attention to catch it when she did. Not many people are going to believe an ex-druggy over a Pastor and a man who was so well respected. So think about that and try to get all the facts before you go blaming anyone especially the mother who is still managing to maintain sobriety in light of all of the bullshit shes dealing with right now. To the mother: Keep being that strong woman that you found apparently on your own good faith at heart.

  3. "Pastor" is a man-given title. A pastor is NO BETTER than anyone else. There are many who use their "position" to gain trust and ABUSE people. Society needs to wake up to this fact.

First and Foremost. Many of those who have left some of the most ignorant comments that alleged civilized people can leave, assume nothing! There are people who are wrong and down right evil. The mother and child were in the womans shelter due to drug and alcohol abuse. We've seen the track marks. We all listened to the stories. We applauded when the certificate of completion from the shelter stating a state of sobriety. We were there when the mother and child were helped so much. We were all there when a line was crossed trying to seduce a husband from a wife. WE ALL KNOW THE TRUTH. For all others know the full story before passing judgement. The mother is wrong, evil, and two faced because she was denied, and put out there.

Its sad when we have become so numb that child molestaion can be going on and all you can say "WE ALL KNOW THE TRUTH",and "We were all there when a line was crossed trying to seduce a husband from a wife". I pray that whoever "We all knew" is, does some serious soul searching.

The Bible says to let those who are without sin throw the first stone. Can you? Really? What the anonymous comment that said "we all knew" meant what that they all knew that THE MOM tried to seduce the pastor. That's what happened. Let's not forget that his family may end up reading these nasty comments that you put up one day.

This pastor and former GySgt of the United States Marine Corps shouldn't be getting so much sympathy since he full well knows the difference between right and wrong. This man might act a certain way in front of a crowd and claim he is sorry, but the lord knows the evil he has done behind closed doors. How can any wife support these actions? Where in your vows is this behavior allowed? He took something sacred from that little girl when he violated her. What kind of man, what kind of Marine does this and thinks it is acceptable? And those who defend his decisions? What does it say about you? You really think he told you the truth about everything? When you knock on the devil's door long enough.... eventually he answers. Every wrong you do comes back ten fold.
