More Wiccan oddness. Now with cats

I have a Google news filter watching all things Wiccan. I want to catch Wiccan crime. I’ve had to rename it Wiccan oddness. Sure, Wiccans commit crime, but they do a lot of weird shit too. Take Wiccan Gabriella Bernabei. A judge accepted her Alford plea on animal cruelty charges. During the investigation, authorities found  over 100 dead cats in her freezer. Bernabei wanted to give the cats a Wiccan burial. She is claiming religious persecution.

The mother of three maintains her innocence and says she’s been unfairly targeted because of her Wiccan beliefs.

“I feel this is an attack on my religion,” Bernabei said. “I was told, ‘Unless you accept the plea offer, you’ll be arrested ... and will spend 10 years in jail.’

“I felt like I had no choice (but to enter into the agreement).”

I recently came across another Wiccan who blamed her idiocy on others' persecution. Must be something they've carried over from Christianity... :-)

...y'all ever hear of the phrase ''don't believe everything you read and only half of what you see'' and ''don't judge what you don't know''...and we ALL know that government officials NEVER LIE, and the media ALWAYS reports the facts and CORRUPTION doesn't exist...FYI: here's a FACT for your CORRECTIONS (that the 'police reports' ''forgot'' to include!!!)...I'm a Pagan/Wiccan TAXIDERMIST and the ''100 Dead Cats'' were prized fish, deer, racoons, ducks, geese, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, a rooster and an iguana along with a few of our beloved felines that were slated for either TAXIDERMY, CREMATION or PROPER BURIALS according to OUR TRADITION which may be NOT YOURS and it 's NOT ILLEGAL...imagine THAT in a State that guarantees CONSTITUTIOAL RIGHT (Section I) to it's citizens to ''...hunt, fish and trap game...''

I think this is animal hoarding and squalor, not Wiccan weirdness. I mean, I have read lots of similar animal hoarding stories on the internet, but I think this is the first one I've seen that mentions Wicca. You make it sound as if she was charged with animal cruelty for having 100 dead cats. I hope that's not true. That would be wrong, unless investigation showed the dead cats were mistreated while alive. Reading the article, I am wondering if the animal cruelty charge was instead due to the condition of the 17 live cats. Also surely 100 dead unfrozen cats is some sort of health hazard for anything living in the house. Wow, 100 dead cats. That's squalor for you.

This women needs help. She is obviously psychotic; Killing cats is just wrong.And when you have a refrigerator full of dead cats You need help. Stop trying to say it is part of Wicca ;that is not true.I am a universalist ordained minister nothing of your practice is condoned under the faith of Wicca .I have studied your faith,and you are trying to use the faith of Wicca to absolve yourself. You do not represent the faith of Wicca. You are simply disturbed .Please seek help child .And on a personal note STOP KILLING CATS YOU EVIL F@CKING BITCH !forgive me child ,that was just my Irish coming out.Freedom of Religion dose not apply to animal abuse.Please get help.
