More Baptist love

I judge people by what they do. In this case I judge the leadership of the The Daviess-McLean Baptist Association (DMBA) to be hateful. They ousted a church for sharing their church with a gay-friendly group.

The Daviess-McLean Baptist Association (DMBA) voted 242-24 in favor of dropping Journey Fellowship Church in Owensboro, Ky. from its credentials committee due to members of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) being allowed to hold meetings at the church.

I applaud the actions of Bob Coons, pastor of Journey Fellowship Church in Owensboro, Ky. The stood up for the right thing.

The pastor explained that Journey Fellowship is "welcoming and affirming" of homosexuals and that his ministry will "continue to reach out to those who have been alienated, shunned, and rejected by the church."

It’s sad really. Good actions met head on with religious orthodoxy. I’m sure the DMBA sees the situation as a win. The rest of us see the situation as… really sad.

It's like they have no clue who Jesus hung out with, it certainly wasn't this pietistic bunch of pricks.

Bravo to Bob Coons and Journey Fellowship Church!

For one to access what the Daviess-Mclean Association did and do it properly they must first look to the Scriptures and see what God's Word says about the subject. If you read in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 you will see what it says. I would also encourage you to read 1 Timothy 1:5-10. Then I would say that if one believes what the Word of God says, or at least says that they do, it must be said, that one cannot be allowed to believe parts of it. You cannot believe love thy neighbor, and not believe what other parts say. There are those who believe in Heaven, but not in Hell. Science tells us that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. If science is right, it there is a heaven, there must be a hell. If there is a reward for service, there is a punishment for sin. If there is a right, there is a wrong. If God's Word is True, then homosexuality is a sin, but so are any number of other things. The finality of all of this is that the only remedy for any sin, is to accept the free gift that God gave us in His Son Jesus. By the way, none of us would have a chance for heaven if Jesus hadn't been who He was and who He is. He came one time as Savior in the form of man for the purposes of offering salvation to any who would accept Him. He will come again as judge, and we each need to be prepared to to be "Judged". I respect the right of each one to believe what they want to believe, and all I ask is that I be given the same right. I want to say also that I cannot justify my sin, nor do I try, so therefore I cannot justify the sin of others. God Bless you, I give you my love because of the Love of Christ, Bro. Gilbert M.
