HDR - Color blind moss

HDR moss on a redwood

I’m colorblind. It sucks. I want to see what other people see when they look at this photo. I can’t. It’s hopeless.

I shot this in California’s Redwood State Park. It’s a handheld 3 frame HDR shot with a 1 f-stop bracket. I was struck by the texture. I wanted to shoot it as black and white, but my family insisted the color patterns were more compelling. I don’t get it.

I'm colorblind as well (red–green). I'm finding that by shooting HDR and tone-mapping I'm seeing textures and patterns in the colors I never notice live. I don't think I'm seeing what the color sited see but maybe a false color approximation?

That's the same effect I am getting. It brings out colors I don't normally see.
It would be interesting to see some kind of scientific study/discussion of tone mapping and color blindness.
I like this shot. Radiant hues of nature. Well done .
awesome!
But you'll have to take our word for it, Mojoey.
