Stephen Hawking on heaven and death

Stephen Hawking is a man of few words, but the words he uses are profound. When asked if he feared death, this was his response.

I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I'm not afraid of death, but I'm in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first. I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.

More than a few people sought me out today, newspaper in hand, to show me this Stephen Hawking story.

This tells us that Mr. Hawking is doing as much good for atheism, as he is for our efforts to understand how the world functions.
Stephen Hawking is a brilliant Scientist, but to claim he is doing good work for Atheist is at best a gray area. He simply looks at the data ,and gives his interpretation of the given information. Just because Science supports A logical universe free of the need for gods, . . Science is not a blunt instrument to beat the heads of the faithful ,but a fine tuned tool by which to convince, and persuade the logical mind. Peace to all .
