Youth pastor Daniel Richard Robida was arrested for allegedly conducting an illicit relationship with a 17-year-old girl. Robida was looking for a replacement wife. Somebody who could handle his children.
Robida was a youth pastor at Harvest Community Church in Summerfield. It was not immediately clear if the victim was a member of the church.
On Saturday, a woman told deputies she believed her daughter was having a relationship with Robida. The 17-year-old girl was interviewed by Detective Charles Levay at the Sheriff's Office and told the official they had been having a sexual relationship within the last month that involved touching.
Again I ask, how is this in any way a Christian value? A married adult with kids is shopping for a wife among the teen crowd. Among children he has dedicated his live to teaching. How do you go from teaching children to sleeping with?
17 is the age where I am inclined to stop seeing the girls as victims. Instead, I look at the actions of the pastor an ask, is this what Jesus taught. If the answer is no, which it clearly is in this case, then I classify him as a hypocrite who is unworthy of a position of trust. It seems only reasonable.

I would also like to point out that in God's eyes sin is sin. There is no hierarchy when it comes to sin. On a spiritual level, stealing has the same consequences as murder. The reason I say this is because the vast majority of people think that Christians are suppose to be perfect and without sin, and these people are quick to jump on the lynch mob mentality bandwagon when something like this happens. The truth of the matter is quite the contrary. Jesus did not come to make bad people good, he came to make dead people alive, people who were dead in their sins. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" therefore ALL of us are no better than Danny.
I do NOT defend his actions, but Danny had succumbed to "a beautiful lie" just like Eve in the garden.1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Every day we face the same beautiful lies. "It's ok to pad my expense report" "It's ok to tell a little white lie" "The cashier gave me too much change back..oh well"
I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is a war raging every hour of every day, a spiritual war and this is the type of tactics the enemy uses. In this one incident, the enemy was able to inflict numerous casualties. Ultimately, however, we are responsible for our own actions. But I hope that rather than casting stones (because let's face it...can we really do any more damage to this man then what he has already done?) we pray for the spiritual healing for all parties involved.
