These types of events alway makes me wonder how many within the church were truly blind to what was going on and how many suspected something but feared coming forward.
Trust me. Nobody suspected anything. Truly blind. It is how they can believe two conflictiing doctrines at the same time such as God is love, and God kills. They have been taught from birth to blindly obey authority, which sets them up and grooms them for these kinds of abuses, which all happen, much to their amazement.

you are wrong tonjia. there were lots of people in the church who suspected things. Their warnings were ignored by church leadership.
When Christian parents put their child's youth minister up on a pedestal as a "man of god," I would think that the child would let his or her guard down a bit more than usual.

<p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Right. When you tell a child the a man speaks for God, it sets up perception of reality that supplants normal skepticism. The child is setup to fail.

OMFSM - that's horrible.
It's so sad--the credulous seem to be so trusting because someone believes in the same mythology as they do. While they accuse non-believers of lacking morality, this absolute faith in religious morality allows these horrible things to happy.

Good on you for keeping track of this stuff--someone needs to.
