Pastor Keith Pettis arrested

KeithPettis2 It’s been a long week for me. Work demands my full attention. I’ve neglected to mention a few pastors who have joined the ranks of Hypocrisy Watch. Take Pastor Keith Pettis of New Life Christian Center in Lowell. He was arrested back in August on a slew of child sex charges, including statutory tape of a 12-year-old girl.  Pettis has strong support from his church.

“We do not care what the naysayers say,” Montgomery said. “We are here to do one thing: To support him irregardless of what the outcome is.”

The most disturbing news is that he is still the church pastor and leads worship services.

“This is my brother, not only by nature, but by spirit,” he said. “My spirit tells me innocence, and that’s what I’m fighting for.”

What a crock of shit. My spirit tells me… my spirit tells me nothing, my intellect tells me to follow the evidence. So far, it looks like Pettis needs his day in court followed by 30 years in prison.

Just to be clear, this is what Pastor Pettis stands accused of:

Pettis is accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in his home in August 2006 by performing a sex act on her. He allegedly sexually abused her again on Sept. 1, 2008, and Sept. 20, 2008, then forced her to perform a sex act on him on Feb. 1 of this year.

Pettis also sexually abused the girl on March 15, according to arrest warrants. He was charged with three counts each of sex offense and statutory rape/sex offense and one count each of first-degree sex offense with a child, attempted sex offense and taking indecent liberties with a child.

And yet, his parishioners dare to compare him to OJ.  Does everything come down to race? I think it all comes down to religion.

Yeah..............lets see if Jesus can get him out of this one. Hope he has divine faith. Religion is such a disease.

Look, this has NOTHING to do with God....people misrepresent God and need I say the devil puts people in the pulpit too to destroy peoples faith in God. I know this Keith Pettis...Notice I did not say pastor, anyway I know he is not honest, he lies and cheats people less fortunate than him. He conned a Pastor friend of mine who lost everything out of some equipment that Pettis was suppose to pay him for. He knew the man was desperate and needed the money and then took advantage of him and forced him to under sell it by 75%. This pastor friend of mine is honest and now is dead.....he died of heart failure because he could not afford his meds...Thanks alot Keith I hope you asked that girl to forgive you because if you didnt GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU and you will roast in HELL!

I cannot speak specifically on Pastor Pettis, but I know someone here who just moved to Lynchburg who came up under Pastor Pettis and he claimed to be the Owner of that radio station. It is disturbing Bryan because this person I am speaking of came to Lynchburg and is displaying the same character of Pettis. He is titling himself a minister, but yet no pastor or bishop of Gastonia will reference him...what is going on with these pastors...the guy he has stolen from me, and is now on his way to being on a local tv station here in Lynchburg amongst pastors and preaching, and these pastors know nothing about him..he has been put out of a church here already. Please people please understand the Word of God is not to be taken lightly, and you will be judged and condemned for knowingly and willingly putting these people or leaving these people in the pullpits to preach and teach the word of God when they have completely and utterly defiled the Body of Christ. Look in Revelations and God's judgement on the seven churches...you are there, and God will not tolerate it...You can stand up for Pettis all you want because when he falls (not by man), You will also fall, and not by man.

hmmmm, i understand your thoughts on this, but you need to take this into consideration also, i was a white member of his church for a few months, and there was already drama between the pastor and the child because the pastor already had 2 children and could not afford to take care of her(she was a foster child). when i was in church she seemed angry , idk about you people but i think this child is just spreading slander due to the fact that pastor pettis did not keep her. i was there and expirienced it but, the truth of what happened lies in that house and i was just expressing my opinion. me actually knowing the pastor, makes me believe he definatly did not do it because the pastor i knew was a smart, humble, and calm person and preached strongly against this sort of thing.

@Peter Cipriano why would he not been able to keep them if he and his wife was the ones who signed up to get the 12-year old?!!! That doesn't make sense to me!! A proscution can't build a case on he said she said stuff and from my understanding they had DNA evdence agisnt Pettis!!

HE GOT WHAT HE DESEEVED; HE DID IT AND HE KNOW HE DID THATS WHY THEY FOUND HIS DNS IN THE CHILDS ROOM IN THE SAME SPOT THAT THE LITTLE GIRL SAID THAT HE PERFORM AN SEX ACT ON HER. HE MADE UP A STORY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND GOT CAUGHT IN HIS LIE HE IS GUILTY AND THATS WHY HE IS LOCKED UP. HE GOT WHAT HE DESERVED BETTER NOT DROP THE SOAP WHILE YOU'RE IN THERE
