Pastor William Brown sentenced

Pastor Willam Brown Baptist pastor William Frank Brown cried today as he learned that he will spend the next 50 years in prison. He can seek parole after 25 years if he survives that long in protective custody.

Brown was indicted for the incidents which began about four years ago in Illinois, when he began assaulting the younger of the two girls.  When he moved to Texas, Police said Brown assaulted the older victim, who is about to turn 14.  Police said the sexual assaults took place hundreds of time, some of which were in Robinson, Harris Creek and in Waco.

Good riddance. I have friends with children in Waco. It makes me fell better to see this Baptist pedophile off the streets.

Just stumbled on your blog when searching a college friend. Ouch. Hate to admit that he showed up in your posts (from 2008, not this guy).

Read through a bit, including comments from those you call "homeschool nutters," "fundies," and religious nuts. As someone you might lump into "all of the above" status (though I'd beg to differ on the nuttiness issue), I'd just like to state, for the record: You are doing a good thing.

Unlike my Christian counterparts who've posted in the past, I think you are doing a really good thing, making these men searchable. I hope that churches will take that basic step and protect the children in their congregations. So, thank you.

I find it rather odd that I agree more with your statements and comments about these men than with the statements and comments of those who report to be Christians. To them I'd say -- Never forget we are to look out for the least of these, to protect the children, and that the Lord said it is better to have a millstone tied around your neck and cast into the sea than to lead one of the children astray.

How they can defend these guys after that is beyond me.

Anyway, just a comment from a "homeschool nutter, religious freak" who disagrees with the rest you've lumped in those categories, and wholeheartedly agrees with you about these men.

I actually have nothing against homeschooling. I've seen it done well and I've seen it done poorly. But essentially, it is your right as an America to raise your children as you please. So no worries. As for religious freak, meh... I don't really care about that either. I do care about protecting our kids from predators. That's why I post.
cool. thanks. Gotta admit, add in that I'm a Texan and I thought for sure I was a goner posting here.

-grin-

Hope you don't mind if I drop in from time to time.
I knew Frank Brown when he was the Pastor of Bellmead First Baptist Church in Waco. He not only was molesting his kids, but was systematically destroying the once popular and strong Baptist Church in the community of Bellmead. He suckered people into his little group and grew just enough to take control of the church, then dismantled everything God and church are about. This guy deserves to spend more than what was given to him for what he did, and I'm sure that God will deal with him swiftly and justly. Rot in Hell, Frank.
