Pastor Joseph Ragland indicted

I’ve been waiting for this one since last May. Joseph Kennedy Ragland was indicted for allegedly raping a 16-year-old member of his church.

The Johnston County magistrates' office told ABC11 Eyewitness News Joseph Kennedy Ragland, former pastor of the Church of God in Christ Jesus in Angier, is charged with two counts of second-degree forcible sex offense, two counts of sex offense by a custodian, two counts of crimes against nature, second-degree rape, and rape by a custodian.

Go ahead, defend this creep. I dare you.

Ragland was pastor at Church of God in Christ Jesus in Angier, NC. I often wonder about pastor like Ragland. Did he wake up one day and decide to be a pastor? As far as I can tell he has no formal education or training, yet he is a pastor. Who would follow him, and why?

It does not always mean that you have to have education to preach the word of God. If you are truly called and have the annointed [sic] on your life God will take of you. Sometime people feel that education makes a difference but in these days you need to fast and pray because education is not going to fight the devil that we have now. God never went to sschool [sic] but he got the job done. God is just sick of fake preachers and pulling the cover off.

I don’t even know how to respond to this, except to laugh.

I figure it is actually pretty easy to make it seems you know what you are doing as a preacher. I wouldn't be surprised to find that many of those that you report on committing acts such as this are those that decided they should become preachers and never tried to get any kind of education in it.

Let us remember, that true Christians will be tested. I am not saying that he is innocent by any means, but his members claim that he could really heal and was annoited. I spoke with him also and offered help...he refused and wanted to just wait on the Lord for vindication. Jesus and all of the apostles were falsely accused by the majority and later put to death for the alleged incidences. Let us just keep in prayer that the Lord will prevail. If he is guilty, God shall punish him in a way that he would wish he was never born. If innocent, God will eventually vindicate him after "longsuffering; and he must endureth all things.". May His will be done in the lives of those involved. Amen.

So true Christians are not tested? What kind of excuse for bad behavior are you offering here? if he were not a christian this would not matter but because you think he is a true christian you call the charges a test of faith? Don't you think that lets him off the hook for the brutal rape of a young girl. Was he anointing people with his penis? Let tell you how this will play out... Ragland will spend 15 years in prison after which he will find another gullible church to support his corrupt message.�

It's rational vs. irrational, superstition vs. reason, as it has always been. I don't deny anyone their beliefs but I cannot understand the logic of people who admit to being imperfect beings yet claim to have knowledge of divine intent. Guys like Ragland don't have any claim on any source of supernatural power other than the power of suggestion; he's just a con man, plain and simple, one with a particular taste for 16 year old girls. I just wonder how many others this creep has contaminated?

Pastor Ragland is a friend of mine instead of rejoicing at this tragedy let us pray that no matter what the truth is that we pray for this young lady and her family as well as Pastor raglands family know this that its only Gods Grace that some of your deep sins and iniquities have not been brought to the light AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
