Youth Pastor Gets 15 Years in Prison

Another youth pastor bites the dust. Dean Barnes could not act like a human being. Now he will pay.

A former police officer and juvenile court counselor has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after he admitted sexually abusing two 16-year-old girls in a church group he led as a youth pastor.

Barnes wants to kill himself. He was planning to stab himself with a sharpened toothbrush. I say we let him.

Dean was my youth pastor for 4-5years. I trust him with me life. He cant take back what he did so whats done is done. Let the past be the past. Its not our right to judge him Only God can. LET IT BE. Hes still the same man whatever hes done

Amanda, why is it that christians confuse judging a soul with judging
legal guilt. Of course we have the right to judge this scum bag.
Without our ability to hold people accountable, anarchy would rule us
all..

Christians dont confuse judgment. U dont have the right to judge anybody but u choose to. What he did was stupid but everybody does stupid things. Im sure uve done ur share but the world doesnt judge u for what u do, so why judge any sex offender. Yeah its kinda sick and demented but THATS LIFE. Deal with it. I dont think we should bother sex offenders unless it happens to somebody Really young, at 16 u should be able to take a stand for urself unless u REALLY WANT it to happen to u.

I am so tired of people defending this sociopath! He has a long history of lying and manipulating people. I think most of you are just too ashamed to admit he conned you. It happens people, everybody loved Ted Bundy. If you had every seen the real Dean Barnes you would be happy he is finally where he can't hurt anyone.

What is sad is the actions of this adult effected so many people on so many levels...and from what I read and know personally he has not taken responsibility for HIS actions. There is a lot of justification and blame shifting....man up is what I say! Forgiveness is expected and in my case given - however it is a tough pill to swallow when you have a child directly affected by his actions. Healing will begin to happen for all when he is brought to a place to take FULL responsibility for his choices!! There are physical and spiritual consequences IMHO that he is left with.....prayerfully he will NEVER violate the Lord the way he did again - nor the victims which more then the girls he abused including his family! Tough burden to bare!
