The ads should focus attention on the injustice of Prop 8. I hope they highlight purely religious nature of the people who oppose Gay marriage. Theocracy is insidious."It's important that our fellow Californians see the faces of the real families that are directly affected by the passage of Proposition 8," said John Ireland, the group's organizer.
One of the spots in the GetToKnowMeFirst.org campaign will feature Sonia and Gina, a couple who are raising a son and daughter, ages 6 and 3. "Don't take my family's rights away. Get to know me first," Sonia says in the ad. "Our families may look different from yours, but we're not. We need the same things... like marriage... so we can protect and provide for our kids."

In my opinion homosexuality is a mental illness that causes confusion as to gender. if a man went around saying a am Cleopatra and dressing like her would we believe he had a mental illness? why is a man saying i am woman not the same thing? not to leave women out if a woman says i am Julius ceasor and dresses like him would we say she is mentally ill? if homosexuals got over their denial they would be in a protected class. The class being disability. Employers would have to make reasonable accommodations for them. At this time homosexuality does not fall into any of the 5 protected classes.
In the seventies homosexuality was classified as mental illness. gay and lesbian rights petitioned the American Medical Association to have it removed as a mental illness
On another note if people have sex with persons of the same sex not because they believe they are the opposite sex but just because it turns them on sexually, this should stay in the privacy of the bed room or discussed with ones religious leader.
