Rape is not for the faint hearted

TimothyPrice It was time to face the music for Bethel AME Church music director Timothy D. Price III. When the judge sentenced Price to seven years in prison for the rape of 12-year-old girl. This real man of virtue of promise...  fainted. What a loser. The damage he caused will live on for years.

The drama that prompted sheriff’s deputies to clear the courtroom followed an emotion-racked 75-minute hearing in which the girl’s mother sobbed her way through a victim impact statement, telling Price that her daughter remained in “love” with Price and was obsessed with protecting him.

“She locks herself in her room, day in and day out, thinking about how to get you out of jail. That’s all she talks about is you!”

I normally have few positive comments in cases like this. But I think it is important to acknowledge that Price admitted his crime and pleaded guilty. Admitting guilt is an important step in the healing process. Price and his family, along with his friends, and the young victim, will have seven years to put the pieces back together.
