Border guards told to stop U.S. church fanatics

This is hilarious. Canada will ban nutball Fred Phelps and his hate filled Westboro Baptist Church from crossing the border. They've serious about it too. They've already stopped Shirley Phelps-Roper and a small group of protesters.
Shirley Phelps-Roper, daughter of church’s founder, Fred Phelps, said a small group of protesters was stopped at the Canada-U.S. border Thursday afternoon.

“They won’t let us in, but we have a group that will cross in another spot,” she said. “They’ll have to strip search everyone who crosses that border or they won’t know who we are. They’ll have to see the WBC (Westboro Baptist Church) tattoo on our butts.”
Go get them Canada. And don't be afraid to use your billy clubs.

  1. Ha! That's awesome! And in other Phelps news, it seems they have been the victim of a random act of god:

  2. Clearly my use of the force is not that strong yet. Copy and paste should work! ;-)

  3. Definitely gotta keep them out of Canada! We might need that place as a refuse in case the Religious Right takes control of the United States. :-)

  4. Hey, we like to be thought of a place of "refuge" not "refuse"! :)

  5. Mojoey - I have the utmost respect for you and almost always agree with you, but on this one I will have to play devil's advocate. Canada has made some mistakes lately regarding freedom of speech. While I don't blame them for preferring to keep garbage such as Phelps and Co. out, I would prefer to live in a country that allows them to make asses of themselves in front of everyone. I dislike their messages of hate just as much as the next person, but I will defend their right to say it along with my right to call them idiots.

Canada is an amazing country, but some of their "freedoms" appear to be a bit off lately. Just my opinion - feel free to bash away at me over it. LOL

It might help to understand that Canada has a "Bush Boy" as its prime minister, a Conservative (subsitute Republican if you are an American). Under these circumstances we tend to do as our Republican masters to the south insist. Have any of you heard of "Avro", or "Diefenbacher" or are most of you too young?
