Compassion toward the homeless, in the form of providing a safe place to sleep, or food, is a cause worth supporting. If it is against the law, then civil disobedience is called for. The fact that a church sees its mission has to service the poor give me hope – I hope they perceiver and win. Screw permits.
If you don't have a permit then you don't have a permit. It shouldn't be any more complex than that.
ReplyDeleteExcluding the church from the rules in this case would be favoring the church over any other group and that would be against the constitution.
