Of course it's kitsch, that's the point. The fanatical voyeurism of the Walmart culture fixated on a Mary Magdalenesque harlot/actress achieving sainthood by her devotion to adopting children from third world countries,(plus the awe inspiring attractiveness of her fellow celeb-mate to these soap opera watching masses...) The religiously indoctrinated sheep of America approach nearly everything hierarchically greater than themselves as either worthy of worship or damnation. So - She-of-the-Voluptuous-Lips who was scorned is now venerated. Art is not about matching your sofa or looking like a picture postcard. This is art as social commentary. -J
