I don't want to say mean things about atheists, it's just that I'm compelled to because they are so damn unreasonable. If they would just see that what I believe is true and what they believe is of the devil...
I wouldn't say such disparaging things about atheists if they didn't pull such sneaky tricks. Now of course I don't mean all atheists. But there are atheist fundies just as there are Christian fundies, and there's an atheist atheism of the gaps kind of argument. The atheist fundie fools himself into thinking that his view is totally empirical and demonstrated by science but "nothing in Christianity is objective...
Fudie is such a bad word. It should only be used on the religious.

There are extremists everywhere and people of differing intelligence. Some of these are religious some are not. I am sure there are "converts" to Atheist thought who are just "changing clothes" and rejecting religion as it frees them from some wacko beliefs and guilt. It doesn't take much to think "Hey I reject god" and then not give it any other thought.
ReplyDeletemmm..... Maybe atheism is also a religion. It's just that the god is the self, you might say...
ReplyDeleteI always have mixed feelings when I run across blogs like that referenced here. Part of me wants to respond and call attention to the misinformation just as you have done here. However, another part of me doesn't want to give the offending blogger the added hits by linking to them.
ReplyDeleteBesides apparently not understanding what atheism means, that blogger fails to realize is that atheists have no reason to argue anything at all. All we are saying is that theistic arguments are logically flawed and insufficient.

ReplyDeleteNow when you boil down what i said (yes, I am Metacrock) I said there are reasonable atheists and unreasonable ones. what's wrong that that?
ReplyDeleteYou imply that I'm saying everyone who disagrees with me is going to hell. I don't even believe in hell.I certainly have never said anything about people who disagree with me getting in even moderate trouble. So why would you say that?

I was an atheist. I was in the Madeline Murry O'Hare group and hung out with personal friends of hers. I know what atheism is about. What it's about has nothing to do with what I said. I was talking about how they behave.

ReplyDeletewhy would it be so horrible if the reasonable atheists told the unreasonable one's "hey, you are making us look bad, shut up and argue fairly already! would that really be so terrible?
