Only in Texas: Students taught to attack gunmen

It's not that I like picking on Texas, its just that they give me so much to work with.

BURLESON, Texas - Youngsters in a suburban Fort Worth school district are being taught not to sit there like good boys and girls with their hands folded if a gunman invades the classroom, but to rush him and hit him with everything they've got — books, pencils, legs and arms.

I am not sure it is tactically sound to send kids at an attacker with pencils. My advice would be to run, or since they are in the well armed state of Texas, pull out them gats and drop the evildoer.

I've made a note to look into recommended tactics for situations like this. Somehow this just feels wrong, but I could be wrong.
