My first music purchase of the New Year was the Sublime tribute CD, Look at All the Love We Found. I am a huge Sublime fan, I love all of their music and own most of it. This CD is an outstanding mix of covers from a variety of bands and genres. Jack Johnson starts it off with Badfish & Boss DJ. Both songs are outstanding efforts. The CD keeps getting better as you listen your way through it. My favorite cover is the Los Lobos version of Pawn Shop – outstanding.
A quote from inside the cover:
“Art alone can turn those thoughts of disgust at the horror or absurdity of existence into imaginary constructs, which permit living to continue. These constructs are the SUBLIME as the artistic mastering of the horrible and the comic as the artistic release from disgust at the absurd.”
-Friedrich Nietzsche, The Birth of Tragedy, 1871.
The CD Contains:
1. Jack Johnson "Badfish/Boss DJ"
2. Michael Franti & Spearhead w/Gift of Gab "What I Got"
3. Fishbone "Date Rape"
4. Bargain Music "Get Out"
5. AVAIL "Santeria"
6. No Doubt "DJ'S"
