I am starting to see more of these back window memorials each day. Usually they are on the back of a old Astro minivan, or a pickup truck, but always the same "in loving memory…" I don't get it. Why do people do this? This kind of thing should be on a headstone, right?
You really don't get it??? It means we are living our life in loving memory of Maurice or whoever. Usually this means that the family had a child die - possibly in a car accident or from an illness or in urban violence. I think it is a great "sign" of urban culture.
ReplyDeleteI dont think its bad, cheesy, but still it's nice to show a memorial. However on the back of a car is not where I would show my tribute.. but they are not me.. oh and I would not put a sticker directly under it that says "intercourse" I mean WTF?
ReplyDeleteI'm a widow... my husband died when our children were young. Still, I wouldn't put that on my car. We can remember him without a sticker on the car. It seems a bit out of place. Photos in the home, great. A sticker? No, not for me.
